The Wolf Creek Highway Run 61 is a scenic alternate ride from the legendary Back of the Dragon VA 16, combining mountain ridgelines, national forest scenery, small-town Virginia, and a meaningful stop honoring America’s veterans. Starting at the Back of the Dragon Brewery in Tazewell, riders head east on Virginia Highway 61, beginning a beautiful journey through the mountains of Southwest Virginia.

As Highway 61 travels toward Rocky Gap, the road follows the rugged landscape along the edge of the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests. Riders can expect long sweeping curves, elevation changes, wooded mountain scenery, and peaceful stretches of pavement that make this route an excellent complement to the tighter and more technical curves found on the Back of the Dragon. The surrounding ridges and valleys create classic Appalachian views throughout the ride.

The route continues east to the small river town of Narrows, Virginia, where riders arrive at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial.
